Thanks to our strong focus on aluminum recycling, we are making a decisive contribution to sustainability and climate protection – and have been doing so for more than 50 years. That’s how long our in-house remelting plant has been in operation. Today, up to 18,000 tons of aluminum are recycled in the plant each year. That involves process scrap remelted into billets and that we can use directly for resource-saving further processing.
In addition, when purchasing raw materials, we rely exclusively on so-called low-carbon aluminum (< 4 kg CO2e/kg Al), which we source from selected suppliers in Iceland and Norway and from external recycling plants.
The figures also demonstrate our commitment to climate protection. For example, our certified C02 footprint for the extrusion sites is well below the industry average. To provide transparent information, we publish an annual sustainability report since 2021.
