apt Group Relies on Partnership with ClimatePartner to Reduce CO₂ Emissions
The apt Group is consistently committed to sustainability and reducing CO₂ emissions in aluminium processing. As one of the industry’s leading companies, apt relies on transparent, scientifically based measures to lower emissions and aligns itself with international climate protection goals.
A significant milestone on this path was joining the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) in 2021. In the meantime, apt has been ASI-certified, meeting the highest international standards for responsible aluminium processing. This certification confirms the sustainable handling of aluminium throughout the entire value chain and the company’s commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects.
To further reduce CO₂ emissions, apt Group has developed a comprehensive climate protection strategy in collaboration with ClimatePartner. The goal is to reduce emissions in line with the 1.5°C ambition level of the Paris Agreement and to operate in a climate-neutral manner in the long term. apt focuses on continuously optimizing processes and closely aligning with international sustainability standards.
Since 2021, apt has published an annual voluntary sustainability report that transparently documents the company’s progress and initiatives. Even now, the Group’s emissions are significantly below the industry average—clear evidence of the effectiveness of its measures.
“Each of our projects is evaluated for sustainability and implemented accordingly. Our goal is to lead in the industry and actively contribute to the United Nations’ Agenda 2030 and the European Green Deal,” explains Hubertus Schomacher, Quality Manager and ASI Manager at apt.
With this consistent focus on sustainability, apt Group strengthens its competitiveness and demonstrates that economic success and ecological responsibility can go hand in hand.
